Mike Schmelzer
DPT
Michael Schmelzer graduated from Messiah College magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Health and Exercise Science in 2010. He graduated from the University of Delaware's Doctor of Physical therapy program in 2012. For the past 5 years, he has practiced in outpatient orthopedics helping a variety of patients achieve their goals.
As a general orthopedic practitioner, Michael has had experience in the areas of pre and post-surgical care, sports injuries, repetitive overuse injury, arthritis, neurologic, vestibular, concussion, balance disorders, chronic pain, and neck and low back pain. He specializes in manual therapy and hands-on care with a focus on working towards patient independence with their care once they graduate therapy. He enjoys connecting with and listening to his patients to identify their individual limitations and working with them to achieve their specific goals in order to get them out of pain and back to the life and activities they enjoy.
Michael grew up in Wilmington, DE and was active in swimming, baseball, and soccer. He currently enjoys mountain biking and hiking with his wife, music, workouts at the gym, and traveling.

Sharon Fanning
PTA
Sharon has been working as a Physical Therapist Assistant for over 20 years in Outpatient and Skilled Nursing/Long Term Care. Working at THR allows Sharon to have more one on one interaction with her patients to help them return to their prior daily lifestyle. She is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and is a Credential Clinical Instructor that she obtained through the APTA. In addition she is certified in Vestibular Rehabilitation through American Institute of Balance (AIB). She also has a Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Physiology from the University of Delaware. In her spare time, Sharon enjoys running, reading, and going to the beach.

Marcia Pembroke
Administrative Assistant
Marcia graduated from the University of Delaware with a degree in Biological Sciences. She returned to work after raising her two sons and has been with us at THR for the past nine years. Her interest in maintaining good health makes her a great fit for our company. In her free time, Marcia enjoys spending time in the mountains with her family.

Billy Hankins
Transportation
Billy has been transporting patients who can't drive themselves to therapy since 2010. He loves talking to and helping out the patients that he picks up. He believes that a job worth doing is a job worth doing right. In his spare time, Billy enjoys riding his 3 wheeler, scuba diving and traveling. He is also a fan of the 2018 Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles!!!
